Kinross travelled north to Blairgowrie with a light team of 17 players. Lacking numbers due to illnesses and wanting to ensure the game went ahead, Kinross pulled together numbers of players past and present.
A blustery, miserable Scottish day well in it's way set the stage for a thrilling game of rugby.
Kinross started the game through the boot of John McMurdo. A tough contest for 15 minutes saw Blairgowrie cross the line after numerous phases whittling down the Kinross defence.
A further two tries for Blairgowrie were earned through some quick phase rugby which caught Kinross on the backfoot both times.
Velcro hands from Angus 'Stoorie' Macpherson awarded Kinross a try, converted by John McMurdo which shortly after saw out the half.
HT Blairgowrie 17 - 7 Kinross
The 2nd half well underway; two teams battling hard against the elements and giving everything for their respective clubs, Blairgowrie were rewarded with a well worked try.
Down to 13 men after a yellow card for John McMurdo for some foul play and Gordon Wood leaving the field with an injury, the field of play opened up for Blairgowrie to take full advantage of, crossing the whitewash a few more times and seeing out the final whistle.
FT Blairgowrie 38 - 7 Kinross
Well done to Blairgowrie on the win; continuing their dominant form from their previous league fixtures. But a huge effort and show of heart and character for all of the Kinross RFC team, coming together and making sure the fixture went ahead. Shout outs to Martin Bell, David Lawrie and Craig McDade; all huge advocates for the club who donned their boots in a time of crisis.
We move on to our next league fixture:
